Tamara Thorne writes novels, usually about hauntings, conspiracies, serial killers, evil nuns, slutty schoolgirls, and even the occasional vampire. Most of the towns presented in Grimm Acres are the ones that help inspire her books and this is where you get to find out details about the places and people who live here with her. In addition to writing, Tamara is an active ghosthunter and Fortean.
Her turn-ons include singing along with Tom Lehrer, ragtime*, exposing fraudulent mediums, South Park, cats, photographing ghost towns and zombie cities, and watching young oiled men playing volleyball at the beach. Her turn-offs include math, all fanatics, that milk ad where the dog eats peanut butter, all seafood, and explosive diarrhea.
* music, not that time of the month
Melanie Billings, magically transported to Grimm Acres from her old home on the web, AllAboutGhosts.com, is the other half of the creative force behind this site. When not dueling fearsome beasts like men in zippered Bigfoot suits or pruning the Shrubbery, Melanie is busy penning her own column, The Weird Files, and channeling various residents of Grimm Acres.
Her addictions include reality TV like Survivor and The Real World (the shows that everyone watches but will never admit to), mellow music that sounds best in the dark, movies both good and bad, The National Enquirer, and those hand-wrapped expensive chocolates with almonds and the little crunchy bits in them.
Melanie also has several short stories published and is currently working on a novel, which is the stock statement for this sort of bio, but she assures me that it really is true and she really is working on that novel. Her other work can be found at AllAboutGhosts.com, in two of Cyber-Pulp's newest anthologies, Be Mine and Carnival of Horror and also the up-coming SpecFicWorld anthology Dark Treasures. Another of her short stories was runner-up in Dark Krypt's Annual Halloween writing contest in 2004.
The Fab One is joining forces with the Grimm Girls for added enlightenment to those seeking advice and sassy tid-bits. When not battling the forces of political evil, and saying NO to Bush, the Fab One spends his free time redeeming Catholic priests gone wild and sending Martha Stewart crank letters.
The things that make him giddy are South Park and Absolutley Fabulous. And of course, the reality TV show, The Swan. When will they pull a "Carrie" moment and dump pig's blood on the mystified "made-over" queen when they pull the curtain?
The things that make his wrist limp are die-hard Republicans, shallow minds and hairy-backed strippers (male and female). Come meet him in his lair on Grimm Acres.
